A mosaic artist gathers stone, glass, ceramic – pieces precious and plain, fragments composed into images and patterns of startling subtlety and beauty.
During a magical evening, The Ukrainian Mosaic Orchestra will develop a musical picture, built from the essential elements of the Ukrainian physical and cultural landscape: the rugged Carpathian Mountains, the broad wheat covered steppes, remote mountain villages, cosmopolitan Kyiv with its golden domed monasteries perched on the banks of the great Dnipro River.
For this special musical evening in Los Angeles, the UMO will be enhanced by an array of world class guest artists from Europe and the United States: brilliant instrumentalists, soaring vocalists, and high-flying dancers, among them several musicians flying in from their embattled homeland.
Together with traditional and popular music, the program will include film scores and classical favorites.
